Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 70 today. While the social media is flooded with good wishes for the health and prosperity of the Prime Minister, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore celebrated his birthday on Wednesday and offered a 70-kilogram laddoo to Lord Shiva at Sivan Kamatchi Amman Temple.
The celebration included a procession outside the temple and then the party workers offered prayers following which the laddoo was distributed among common people.
If reports are to be believed, for the past one week, BJP workers have engaged themselves in different events including eye checkup camps, ration distribution and blood donation camps as a part of PM’s birthday celebration.
Keeping Modi’s birthday in view, BJP had launched a week-long campaign on Sep 14, called ‘Seva Saptah’, under which several social initiatives are being undertaken by the party leaders and workers across the country.
This is not something new, that people and party leaders are doing something different to celebrate Modi’s birthday. In 2019, BJP leaders celebrated Modi’s birthday with a 568-kg laddoo and a Surat-based baker had made a 700-feet-long cake weighing 70000 kg. The cake was cut by 700 ‘honest people of the city’.
