Foot detox

Detoxing is as necessary as eating and breathing today. We encounter toxins every day, in the water we drink, the air we breathe, our beauty products and common home products. Toxins accumulate in our liver and colon and hamper their function causing many problems in the body and breakouts on the skin.

The latest in detoxifying is Foot Detox. It is believed to be a great way to detox the body since feet have nerve endings and sweat glands. Even soaking feet in hot water can calm down the body, reduce swelling, and improve overall health. As per research, a foot detox works by removing toxins and metal from the feet.

Detox through feet

Foot soaks: Soak feet in water with some Epsom salts and essential oils. Keep immersed for 15 minutes and then dry them and massage with moisturiser.

Foot masks: These masks are applied on the feet for a few minutes and then washed off. A foot mask can soften your skin, remove toenail fungus and also help with athlete’s foot.

Foot scrub:Foot scrubs should be done on a regular basis. They remove dead skin cells and kill feet odour.

Footpads: Food pads are designed to make the feet sweat. This process is believed to pull out toxins from the body.

Accupressure-based massage: Feet are like roots of a tree, and the sole or bottom of the foot contains hundreds of nerve endings and acupressure points that can be massaged to help certain parts of the body that are in pain.
