Our kitchens already have immunity boosting ingredients, says nutritionist Shinali Parikh

As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise, people are realising the importance of building immunity. From kadhaas to vitamin supplements, immunity boosting food and pills have become a rage now. Shinali Parikh, an Ahmedabad based nutritionis explains, “Although immunity booster drinks and pills have become a rage right now, I feel that immunity cannot be built in a day. We don’t have to look too far to find things that will help us build our immunity. Our kitchens already have all the necessary ingredients that help build immunity like , seeds, garlic and many more. The pandemic has made us realise the importance of eating healthy and eating immunity boosting food, but building immunity is a gradual process. One needs to be very regular in consuming immunity boosting food for them to actually work. In terms of healthy eating trends, people will slowly realise the importance of eating healthy but I don’t see any drastic changes in the food habits of Amdavadis.”
