Do you sometimes feel nauseous or dizzy while getting up from the bed or chair? Does it feel like you have lost all energy and have no balance on your body? If yes, then you might be suffering from low blood pressure.

A sudden drop in your blood pressure or low blood pressure is known as “hypotension” in medical terms. A normal blood pressure reads typically 120/80 millimeters of mercury, while a low blood pressure could read below 90/60 millimeters. Low blood pressure includes symptoms like blurry vision, fainting, light headedness, nausea or vomiting and dizziness.

There might not exist any particular single cause of hypotension, while stress and diet could be the most possible ones. Majority of people with low blood pressure don’t need medications. Only some changes in food habits and effective home remedies could be helpful in balancing the blood pressure. If you feel a sudden downfall in your blood pressure, you could rely on a few effective remedies given below.

Drink more fluids

Dehydration could be a major cause of low blood pressure and many other diseases. It’s necessary to keep your body hydrated in this scorching heat. Drink at least 2-3 litres of water daily with regular intake of other fluids like juices, sharbats or coconut water. Drinking water washes out your toxics and cleans you up for a healthy living.

Have adequate salt

Consuming excessive salt is bad, while moderate quantities of salt is necessary to keep blood pressure in balance. According to the World Health Organisation your body needs a tablespoon of salt daily besides the available one in natural fruits and vegetables. The presence of sodium in salt makes it a powerful remedy to raise blood pressure. You could choose to drink a glass of water with half tablespoon of salt daily.

Caffeine

Consuming a cup of tea or coffee in low blood pressure could help. Although the exact study of how caffeine helps in blood pressure is not known but it is observed that it raises blood pressure temporarily.

If you suffer from regular fluctuations in blood pressure, you could also choose to have a cup of green tea daily, which is equally beneficial for being rich in antioxidants and caffeine.

Tulsi leaves

Loaded with antioxidants, tulsi leaves are rich in vitamin-c. Chewing around 4-5 holy basil leaves in the morning could help in blood pressure control as tulsi is rich in potassium and magnesiu, which helps in blood flow.

Rosemary oil

Rosemary oil is an important essential oil containing array of benefits. It has camphor as its major component. Massaging your body daily with rosemary oil could help stimulate your respiratory system and blood circulation, thus aiding blood pressure.
