With relief and restrictions lockdown 4.0 began on Monday and while people were trying to cope up with the change, a musical party was organized in a plush society of Mumbai, where samosas were distributed, breaking all the rules of social distancing.
The matter came into light when a video of the party was shared on social media and within a couple of hours it went viral. Later, two members of the society including its chairman were arrested for violating prohibitory orders which are in place to stem the spread of coronavirus.
According to sources, in the video there were around 30 people visible in the society premises for the musical party, where samosas were served to guests,.
A clip doing rounds on social media shows people enjoying the live guitar performance over samosas being distributed with no preventive measures of gloves and masks.
In a statement, police officials have mentioned that the party was organized on Monday in the premises of Kukreja Palace housing society in Ghatkopar (East) and an offence was registered late evening after the video of samosa party went viral on social media. IPC sections 188 and 269 have been invoked for disobedience and act of negligence as well.
As per TOI news, BJP MLA Prakash Mehta also stays in the same society and the FIR is politically motivated.
