Our skin goes through a lot, and in fact, helps in protecting our body against many diseases and conditions. Pollution, dirt, chemicals from cosmetics and makeup are just a few things that make it difficult for our skin to be, and stay healthy.
Using skincare products is quite a trial and error method, and you may end up harming your skin more than improving its health if you keep trying on new products every now and then. This brings up the requirement of something simple, easy to do, and natural, which helps improve the health of your skin. Skin icing is one such practice and can be a great way to begin your day.
How to perform skin icing
There are multiple ways in which you can perform skin icing. The most popular ones include holding ice to your face or dipping your face in a bowl of ice water. Katrina Kaif, the Bollywood actress, also practices skin icing as it helps her wake her skin up, early in the morning.
To perform skin icing in any way, the first step is to prepare the ice. Add some water to an ice tray. You can add some rose water, lemon, or other ingredients which help your skin, like tea. Let the ice freeze overnight.
In the morning, hold the ice to your face, using a cloth. Rub it on your face, in circular motions, gently. Cover all parts of your face. If you have added lemon juice to the ice, be careful around your eyes. Do not apply the ice to your face for more than 15 minutes.
In the other technique, you can dip your face in a bowl of ice water. Fill up a clean bowl with cold water, and add ice to it. There should be more water than ice in the bowl. Dip your face in the ice water, for about 10 to 30 seconds, while holding your breath. Repeat the process several times. If the water gets warmer, add more ice.
