Make-up can be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on the way you use it. No, we are not trying to scare you, just warn you. When done right, make-up can make you look like a million bucks. On the other hand, when not done correctly, it can also make you look less appealing or even older than you are. It all boils down to how efficiently you use make-up to your advantage. And, in the hot weather, it’s all about knowing the right techniques. Jerusha Chande, Content Head, MyGlamm talks about the five make-up mistakes to avoid in summer:
Using expired make-up
It’s time to check your make-up stash and clear off all the products that have crossed the expiry date. Old and expired products are not safe to use and can lead to rashes, allergies and irritation. Also, they do not give the best results. Always check the make-up products for the expiry date and use them accordingly. Discard all the expired products and restock, even if it’s expensive.
Not cleaning the make-up brushes
Make-up brushes are important tools that give you the right application and finish. Keeping them clean prolongs their life and saves you a lot of trouble of breakouts and infection. Old, dirty brushes are breeding ground of bacteria and germs. Wash them regularly with warm water and detergent and then soak them in antiseptic liquid before drying out completely. Never leave your brushes in damp areas like the bathroom or store them without drying out completely as it will damage the brushes and cause germs to grow in them.
